Mark your calendars! The annual New Buffalo Halloween Parade will be Sunday, October 27, 2013. Once again the parade will line up on North Thompson Street just down from the Public Library. Judging will begin at 1:00 p.m. sharp (Michigan Time) and the awards will be given out immediately following the judging on North Thompson Street. The parade will then step off onto Mechanic Street at approximately 1:45 p.m. This year’s route will be Thompson Street down to Mechanic Street up Whittaker Street then right on Merchant Street to the New Buffalo Fire Department where the firemen will be giving goody bags to all the children. The door-to-door Trick or Treat is slated from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.
We have kept the 12 different group breakdowns again this year. They are: Baby 0-18 months old, Toddler 18 months – 2 ½ years old, Preschool “A” 2 ½ years – 3 ½ years old, Preschool “B” 3 ½ years – 5 years old, Kindergarten 5 years old, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade, 6th Grade and School Band.
Please drop your loose change in the canisters around town, or bring it to the parade and place it in the canisters that will be on Thompson Street and at the Fire Station. Remember -- every donation helps and no donation is too small.
This is a wonderful event for all the local area children. Hope to see you there!
